Basketball took long strides when it became a global sport in 1992. The ‘Dream Team’ revolution started it all. Michael Jordan, Magic, Larry Bird, and other NBA superstars stepped on the Olympic stage as one unit. Fans were awe-struck, rivals took pictures before games and the team demolished everyone. The buzz around the Olympics has walked around the same wavelengths ever since. Team USA remains the favorite, but other nations are stepping up. One of those dreaming are Kyle Anderson and China.
Anderson was born in New York and raised all his life in the United States of America. It might seem peculiar as to how or why he is representing China. In 2018, the Anderson family made their first trip to the South Asian country. They had discovered their lineage lay there.
Upon exploration, they reunited with their long-lost relatives and community. Upon learning the traditions and feeling the love, Anderson had his vision clear – he wanted to play for China. The ultimate vision remains the 2024 Paris Olympics.
