On Wednesday 30th January, 2019, Christ’s College Finchley celebrated Chinese New Year with all year 7 and local primary schools. They learned about the legend of Chinese New Year and Chinese Zodiac, and the Chinese New Year celebration customs during this festive period. Some year 7 and 8 Mandarin students performed a Chinese new year song and a drama in Chinese. Confucius Institute for Business London sponsored to invite a professional Art Troupe. The professional performers displayed the traditional Chinese performances such as lion dance, Chinese minority Wei dance, Tang dynasty dance, musical instruments like Bamboo Flute, Er Hu, Yang Qin and Gu Zheng, as well as some martial arts.
The CCF headmaster made a special mention of the Year 7 Mandarin Drama Performance and the MFL governor of Brookland Junior School expressed his gratitude in a formal “Thank You Letter” to all school governors, thinking highly of the “well organized, interesting and informative” Chinese New Year Celebration Event, and the Mandarin drama and song performance by their ex-pupils who are now in Year 7 in Christ’s College Finchley.
2019年1月30日，星期三，芬奇利基督学院举办了两场中国新年活动。芬奇利基督学院所有七年级学生以及当地都铎小学，布鲁克兰德小学以及圣特蕾莎小学的学生及老师参加了这次新年活动。在此次新年活动上，师生们通过视频介绍了解了中国新年来历，中国生肖文化传说以及新年庆祝习俗等等。芬奇利基督学院七年级学生身着古代朝廷戏服，用汉语表演了话剧《秦始皇及其大臣们》，其流利准确的汉语以及投入地表演给在场观众留下深刻印象。
芬奇利基督学院校长对汉语戏剧表演大加赞赏，给予了高度肯定。芬奇利基督学院七年级学生还演唱了中国新年歌曲《新年好》。伦敦商务孔子学院协助芬奇利基督学院邀请了专业的演出团队，给在场的中小学师生们带来了舞狮表演，武术展示，新疆舞蹈，笛子吹奏，二胡、古筝以及扬琴民乐和奏表演。演出富有中国特色，从语言、音乐、武术、舞蹈等多个方面展现了中国文化，当地布鲁克兰德小学督导称赞此次活动组织严谨、生动有趣且富有文化信息。
