Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, continues its growth in China with the opening of a new IKEA store and a Livat meeting place in Shanghai’s Changning District. This development aligns with the company’s strategy to integrate digital and physical experiences for a seamless customer journey.
The IKEA Shanghai Linkong store spans 21,620 square meters, displaying over 9,500 products, with 4,700 available for same-day pickup. The facility also includes a 450-seat Swedish restaurant and a Swedish Food Market. The store is part of Livat Shanghai, the largest of its kind in China, alongside five office towers featuring one of the largest IKEA office spaces.
Deputy Retail Manager Sara Del Fabbro emphasized China’s strategic importance to IKEA’s long-term growth, with the company marking 26 years in the region. After the grand opening, Ingka operates 39 IKEA stores and 10 Livat meeting places across China, serving nearly 800,000 residents and 140,000 office workers in the Shanghai area.
